AIDS FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING
MATILDAH, (Making Advanced Technology Useful for Independent Living for Disabled
People at Home), is a two-year project being undertaken by researchers at the University
of Dundee. The researchers are part of a new Interdisciplinary Disability Research
Institute (IDRIS) examining disability related issues across the lifespan. IDRIS
aims to conduct high quality research to address health and social care issues for
disabled people, enhance social inclusion and increase independence. They are seeking
views from disabled adults (18-65 years) about the technologies being used in their
homes. Including: What technologies people use in their homes; whether people have
stopped using particular technology at home, and why; what technology people would
like to have in their homes. They are looking for people to get involved through:
User club - discussion group; online discussion forum – share views online; one-to-one
interviews – individual meetings with people in their own homes.
